Mitsubishi Motors North America moved its estimated $260 million media buying account to PHD. Deutsch, Los Angeles, previously handled the account. Deutsch, through its iDeutsch division, recently won back Mitsubishi's interactive account.

Cingular Wireless has awarded MendozaDillon its Hispanic creative account (for its U.S. campaign). The account is estimated at $20 million.

Horizon Media has been awarded media planning and buying responsibilities for IKEA North America's Los Angeles Market. IKEA awarded creative duties for this market to Santa Monica independent Secret Weapon Marketing and tapped Anita Santiago, also in Santa Monica, to handle Hispanic marketing for the Los Angeles market. Horizon Media was awarded the business without a review, and billings were not disclosed.

Oracle has narrowed down its search for an agency to handle its $40 million global media account. They are: MediaCom, San Francisco; Starcom, Chicago; and Initiative, Los Angeles.

Viva Partnership has been named Hispanic agency of record for Dexatrim. Dexatrim’s US Hispanic campaign includes TV and radio, and is launching in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Phoenix this Spring. Viva is responsible for all creative, and will also handle all media buys from its San Antonio office. Billings were not disclosed.

Old Navy has awarded its advertising account to Deutsch LA. The agency beat out Euro RSCG MVMBS Partners and J. Walter Thompson, both New York, for the win. Pile and Company, a Boston-based management-consulting firm, managed the review. Billings were not disclosed, but industry sources estimate the value of the account at more than $180 million.
