Out To Launch

chevyChevrolet is launching a TV spot in Texas tomorrow, nationwide to follow, for its 2014 Silverado. The campaign features an original song by Will Hoge, which will also debut July 4 as a music video and digital download. Most of the people who appear in the ad, created by Commonwealth, are actual Chevrolet owners, not actors. “Strong,” seen here, serves as a love letter to hard-working men who are as tough and durable as the trucks they drive.

lucky charmsWhen Lucky Charms added two new rainbow marshmallows to its cereal, the brand launched a campaign throughout June, pride month, that pays tribute to the LGBT community. McCann Always On created a #LuckyToBe site experience on Tumblr that used the #LuckyToBe hashtag to drive mentions across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. A video was then launched on YouTube that encouraged people to tweet or Instagram why they are lucky to be, using the #LuckyToBe hashtag. “Being different is not an issue or a problem. It’s lucky,” begins the video, seen here.

SnickersKenny G has no problem being the butt of jokes because he is laughing all the way to the bank! In an ad for Snickers Bites, a group of friends are playing cards and sharing stories. One man chooses to tell a story through music, and by music, I mean he morphs into Kenny G and his saxophone. His pal hands him a bag of Snickers Bites and voila, the man turns back into his regular old story-telling self. Watch “Cards” here, created by BBDO New York.

nklaNo-Kill Los Angeles launched a PSA starring Kristin Bauer van Straten, (the awesome Pam from HBO's “True Blood”) to encourage people to adopt shelter animals and make Los Angeles a no-kill city. The black-and-white ad shows Bauer van Straten and her beloved dog Asher, whom she adopted from a shelter. She wonders what life would be like without her four-legged friend and hopes to stop the stigma about adopting shelter animals. They are cute, friendly and will love you unconditionally. See the ad here, created by TBWA\Chiat\Day LA.

jack danielsThat buzz you hear is the sounds of a swarm of bees flocking to Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey whiskey. In the ad, King Bee flies through a cloud of steam and a desolate city street.
