ironSource, an app discovery platform, announced the launch of a suite of big-data solutions today that will allow marketers to safely gather vast amounts of information into whatever cloud-based data warehouse they need.
“We initially built Data Flow Management for our own use,” stated Shimon Tolts, general manager of data solutions at ironSource. “We quickly began to generate billions of unique events a day, and we needed a solution which would give us enterprise-grade reliability and scalability, but at the same time, allow us complete flexibility and granular control over what data was collected, how it was managed and where it was stored."
The service/product is already an Amazon Web Services technology partner. It is currently in use by a number of large mobile publishers, like Jelly Button, a game studio.
Users will be able to automate storage and management within Amazon Redshift, pause and resume incoming traffic, adjust the size of tables to optimize speed, fix load errors, run historical raw data back into the database and monitor load speeds.
Tolts favors data offerings that don't dictate how companies can query data or lock them into end-to-end offerings. “We believe a company’s data should always remain in their control,” he noted.
The service is available on a pay-as-you-use basis, allowing companies to pay only for the data that gets sent through the pipeline.
