I don’t know about you, but I found ecommerce to be a real lifesaver this holiday season.
Some people I know love brick-and-mortar shopping during the holidays — the crowds, the holiday décor, endless loops of "Jingle Bell Rock" and entire families having meltdowns over -- well, it doesn’t take much.
Not that I’m devoid of holiday spirit, but I tend to procrastinate when it comes to holiday gift shopping. It’s a flaw I intend to work on during retirement, which is a ways off.
For now, being able to check off most of the gifts on my list with just a few clicks is a godsend.
No doubt ecommerce is just going to continue to grow by leaps and bounds in the year ahead.
Here are a few predictions from PriceWaiter, the ecommerce shopping app for what’s in store (so to speak) next year on the ecommerce front:
Companies will continue to hone their omnichannel ecommerce offerings so customers have a pleasant experience shopping from any device.

Negotiation is new to the game, but it is growing quickly. That’s a major component to the PriceWaiter offering. The firm will be doing everything in its power to ensure the growth curve continues.
Personalization will get more sophisticated as retailers hone their data skills to create targeted promotions.
Sales tax and how it is applied to ecommerce transactions is evolving in a big way. That shouldn’t come as a big surprise, right?
