'The Tempe Daily News' Is Rebanded As 'The Tempe Tribune'

Times Media Group is relaunching The Tempe Daily News as The Tempe Tribune.

The Tempe Daily News dates back to 1887 when one Curt Miller purchased the 20-month-old Salt River Valley News and changed its name.

The new iteration will reach 45,000 weekly readers online, including 20,000 via print. The email newsletter will be sent to 25,000 readers every Saturday evening.

“It is an honor for me to be a part of bringing back Tempe’s original newspaper,” Steve Strickbine, president of Times Media Group.

Strickbine adds, “Having grown up in the Valley and as a graduate of ASU (Arizona State University), I understand the responsibility and importance of bringing back a paper that focuses solely on the news of the Tempe community.”

Times Media Group owns more than 60 other community news publications in the Valley, Tucson and Southern California.
