Sorrell Backer Lord Rothschild Dies At 87

Here’s some sad news from across the pond. British banker Lord Jacob Rothschild has died at the age of 87.
He was one of the elder members of what Reuters called “one of Europe’s best known banking dynasties.”
His family issued a statement calling him a “towering presence in many people’s lives.”
Known for his philanthropy, Rothschild also backed many startups, including S4 Capital, the advertising and marketing firm started by Martin Sorrell after he was forced out of WPP in 2018.

Rothschild’s backing came through his investment company RIT Capital Partners.
