Dan Wakeford To Serve As EIC Of Us Weekly

Dan Wakeford has been named as editor in chief of Us Weekly, owner a360media announced on Tuesday.  

Wakeford will be tasked with enhancing Us Weekly's reach across all platforms.

His “exceptional journalistic skills and extensive experience developing and modernizing some of the biggest brands in the industry make him the perfect fit to lead Us Weekly into its next chapter of growth and success," says Amanda Dameron, chief content officer of a360media.

Wakeford was most recently the top editor of failed news startup The Messenger. He has served as editor-in-chief of People, editorial director of Entertainment Weekly, and editor-in-chief of Life & Style and In Touch Weekly.  

He also, prior to emigrating from the United Kingdom, in 2002, helped create the celebrity weekly genre with heat! magazine.
