1440, the daily newsletter that claims to serve more than 3.4 readers, has hired Julie Shain, previously senior editor at theSkimm, as deputy editor. 

Shain will help manage the news product, from curation to writing and editing, 1440 says.  

In her previous role, Shain led the Daily Skimm news team, having previously served as writer, fact-checker and editor on the product. Prior to that, Shain was the director of research at the non-profit Counter Extremism Project. 

The arrival of Shain will enhance “our team’s capacity to deliver timely and bias-free news to an even broader audience,” says Tim Huelskamp, co-founder and CEO of 1440.  

Huelskamp adds, “Her addition exemplifies our ongoing growth trajectory while maintaining our commitment to delivering trusted information to millions of readers.”
