  • Mike Melone

    Zimmerman Advertising tapped Mike Melone as digital media director. He joins the agency from Starcom Mediavest in Chicago, where he led the Performance Media Group as digital & ecommerce group director. Melone has worked with brands like Ally Bank, ESPN, Kellogg Cereals, Macy's, Sara Lee Brands, KRAFT, Harley-Davidson and Miller Beer. "Mike's arrival exemplifies how laser-focused our media department is to serve the dynamic, data-driven and demand-obsessed retail business," said founder and chairman, Jordan Zimmerman.
  • Robert Riccardi

    Argonaut hired Robert Riccardi, former managing partner at Goodby, Sliverstein & Partners, as chief executive officer. This move reunites him with agency founders Rick Condos, Hunter Hindman, and Max Heilbron, all of whom had worked together at GS&P, running accounts including Doritos, Cheetos, Chevrolet and Cisco. "Hunter and I are proud and humbled that a talent the caliber of Robert would be willing to join us in helping to lead Argonaut into the future," said Condos. "He is not only the smartest guy we've ever worked with, he's a great friend as well." Added Riccardi: "I've been at GS&P for 23 years and it's been brilliant. Now a new management team is emerging there that is fantastic and the work over the past year is as good as it has been in a long while. So, it felt like the right time to move on to something new.   • Colm Murphy and Harry Roman-Torres

    Droga5 New York promoted Colm Murphy and Harry Roman-Torres to co-heads of strategy. Both were previously group strategy directors. The appointments come as Chet Gulland, current head of strategy, plans to leave the agency at the end of May after six years. Murphy has been with Droga5 for two years, working on Chase, Georgia-Pacific and Dun & Bradstreet. Prior to Droga5, he ran the Rolex and Puma accounts at JWT New York. Roman-Torres first joined Droga5 in 2008. He left the agency for stints at Leo Burnett New York and Google before returning to Droga5. He most recently worked on NRG, SheaMoisture and Under Armour. "We are excited to double down on leadership with two of the kindest, most creative and capable people in the industry," said Jonny Bauer, global chief strategy officer.

    GSD&M hired Evan Walker as media supervisor, with a focus on social media. He will work across GSD&M clients like Southwest Airlines, Walgreens, Chipotle, Hilton, and Goodyear, among others. Walker joins the agency from PP+K in Tampa where he served as social media strategist, on brands including Legoland and the Florida Aquarium. Prior to that, he worked at Mindshare and The Halo Group.

    360i promoted Amanda Abar from managing director, Chicago to executive vice president and Orli LeWinter from vice president of strategy & social marketing to senior vice president of strategy & social marketing. Abar will report to CEO Sarah Hofstetter and LeWinter will report to chief strategy officer Lee Maicon. In her new role as part of the agency's executive team, Abar will have significant client and business development responsibilities, contribute to agency goals and provide leadership to 360i's account management group. She will continue to be responsible for the overall management and business development of the Chicago office. In her new role, LeWinter will be responsible for the agency's social marketing across paid, earned and owned media, with an eye on where consumer trends are moving and what technological opportunities the platforms afford for clients. "Amanda and Orli have been a huge asset in the growth of 360i as a digitally-centric agency that is innovating ahead of changing industry and client demands," said Hofstetter. "They are strategic thinkers that will only continue to elevate the agency's offering for clients looking to challenge the status quo. These are well deserved promotions."
