Peter Dunn, current president/GM for WCBS-TV, has added to his portfolio. He is now president of the CBS Television Stations, which comprises 29 stations owned by the company.
Dunn reports to President and CEO Leslie Moonves, who stated that he "knows how to deliver results ... and knows the local marketplace as well as anyone." The CBS chief called him a "terrific leader."
He replaces Tom Kane. No word on why Kane left.
Before running WCBS-TV New York, Dunn was president of sales for CBS Television Stations; in addition, he served as president of its spot sales operations. Before that, he headed CBS's Philadelphia stations KYW and WPSG. Prior to his CBS tenure, Dunn worked for the NBC TV Stations division as a sales executive for the O&Os.
CBS is something of a Dunn family tradition. Dunn's late father, John Dunn, was an engineer for both WCBS and the network.
