Pepsi Inks Deal With Michael Jackson's Estate

  • May 3, 2012

PepsiCo's new global"Live For Now" marketing blitz will include creative using Michael Jackson's image, as a result of the company's new agreement with Jackson's estate.

The deal will enable the Pepsi brand to use Jackson's image for a TV ad, special-edition cans, and chances to download remixes of some of his most famous songs, according to the Wall Street Journal, which reports that specific marketing efforts will vary by country.

Pepsi first partnered with Jackson in the mid-1980's, producing commercials that remain among the most-watched. (Jackson was injured by a burning accident during the shoot of one of those commercials.)

The Jackson marketing efforts will be among many, including a TV spot featuring hip-hop star Nicki Minaj.
