Nancy Gibbs has been named managing editor of
Time, the 17th managing editor since
Time was founded in 1923 by Henry R. Luce and Briton Hadden. She will oversee one of the
world’s largest news brands, with more than 50 million readers worldwide in print, online, mobile and social media. Gibbs succeeds Richard Stengel, who President Obama announced is his nominee
to be Under Secretary of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the Department of State.
