A new BI Intelligence report from Business Insider projects the real-time bidding (RTB) marketplace to account for over 33% of U.S. digital ad sales by 2018, gobbling up $18.2 billion in spend.
An eMarketer estimate from November 2013 projected advertisers to spend $9 billion in RTB by 2017, though that was limited to display spend. The new BI Intelligence report includes mobile and video, highlighting these two channels as "major drivers" of the projected growth.
