The Spanish-language network will be initially available on Telemundo Station Group station digital multicast signals in 16 markets, including Los Angeles, New York and Miami. The network is expected to reach nearly 20 million U.S. households, and more than 4.5 million Hispanic households.
Veteran Telemundo executive Barbara Alfonso has been named director of TeleXitos, in charge of programming, sales, and digital operations.
TeleXitos will focus on a mix of action/adventure TV series and feature films -- join a roster of almost two dozen local multicast networks seen around the country. TV series such as “Miami Vice” and “The A-Team,” as well as films including “Hulk” and “Van Helsing,” will run -- programming dubbed into Spanish.
TeleXitos replaces Exitos, which aired popular novelas previously seen on the Telemundo Network.
“This expansion allows us to once again better serve our local communities with more programming that is relevant, exciting and of interest to them,” stated Manuel Martinez, president, Telemundo Station Group.
