iHeartMedia has announced that Carter Brokaw is joining the company as president of digital revenue strategy. Per a release, Brokaw will work closely with Brian Kaminsky, head of the company’s programmatic and data operations.
iHeartMedia has been pushing all of the programmatic buttons in recent months. In addition to launching a programmatic ad platform and helping create an ad exchange for radio inventory, iHeartMedia also invested in Unified for analytics and targeting data.
The move to hire Brokaw -- and put him in close contact with the brains behind iHeartMedia’s programmatic moves -- indicates that the broadcasting giant has more moves planned in the ad tech world. In a prepared statement, Brokaw said he intends to help “reimagine traditional radio” in his new role; continuing to introduce new technologies to the space would serve to shake things up.
Brokaw has held positions at Guardian News and Media, Slacker Radio, Meebo, Warner Music Group and more.
