Less than a year after it agreed to acquire AOL for $4.4 billion, telecommunications giant Verizon is weighing a bid to acquire Yahoo, CEO Lowell McAdam confirmed during an interview with CNBC “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer on Friday.
“At the right price, I think marrying up some of their assets with AOL and the leadership would be good,” he said.
Publicly traded Yahoo’s shares closed down 4.05% at $27.97 on Friday and were down 1.39% in pre-market trading early Monday morning.Already one of the largest digital publishers, the acquisition of Yahoo would make Verizon the Internet's biggest publisher by a wide margin.
