Grey Group has announced the acquisition of Tank, a healthcare and consumer agency with offices in Montreal. Tank will retain its name and become part of Grey Group Canada which already operates in
Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Marc Lanouette, President of Tank, will become CEO of Grey Group Canada.
Of the acquisition, Michael Houston, Global President and CEO of
Grey North America, said, "We are delighted to welcome Tank to Grey. This acquisition reinforces our longstanding commitment to expand our
capabilities and critical mass in the Canadian market,
especially in Quebec, as well as in the important healthcare sector."
And on Lanouette, Houston added, "Marc Lanouette, who takes the helm of Grey Group Canada, has built a premier
healthcare agency serving blue-chip clients with world-class strategic and creative brand-building expertise. We intend to build Tank's footprint in the U.S., Europe and Asia beginning in
2017."
Tank was founded in 2007 and had fiscal 2016 net revenues of CAD$14 million as of April 30, 2016. The company employs 120 people at its two offices in Montreal.
It counts as clients AbbVie, BMS, Pfizer,
Eli Lilly, Lundbeck, Telus Health, Department of Canadian Heritage and Caisse de depot. The agency scored a Cannes Lion in 2016 in Radio.
On his new position as Grey Group Canada, Lanouette said, "We are thrilled to join forces with Grey, a recognized global creative powerhouse, whose 'Famously Effective' philosophy mirrors our culture.
