The Joy (And Reach) Of Agency Holiday Videos

I’m not sure what the typical agency holiday video averages in terms of viewers.

I’m pretty sure the Publicis Groupe video, that usually stars top executives Arthur Sadoun and Maurice Levy and sometimes special guests, is an outlier.

The 2022 video (which featured actor Michael Douglas) has garnered 21 million views over the past year. Douglas’ appearance may have helped boost the numbers a bit—the prior year’s video over two years has garnered a still-pretty-impressive 12.9 million views.

The Groupe’s new video will be out soon, I’m told, so stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Klick Health launched its annual video two weeks ago and it has already been viewed over 6.1 million times.

During the pandemic, as a way of keeping the team connected in a fun way the agency launched its #Klick-Happy channel on Slack. Everyday a question is posted around happiness or what one thing at that moment would put you over the moon with delight.

This year the agency responded, with gifts matching the replies, like tickets to a ball game, Broadway show, French lessons, sky diving experience and more, and captured the moments when the gifts were revealed on camera. In a world full of grief, it’s a delight to watch these little moments of surprise and delight.

The agency’s video last year was kind of the flip side of this year’s. Hundreds of staffers were given a hundred bucks and told to go spread joy, however they defined it.

Spreading joy. It doesn’t get more satisfying than that.

Happy Holidays everyone.
