Delaware's 'Star News' Will Be Delivered By USPS

Wilmington, Delaware’s Star News is about to join the parade of Gannett publications that are delivered by the U.S. Postal Service.

The change takes place on Jan. 24.

Print delivery faces labor challenges, fluctuating fuel prices, increased competition for door-to-door delivery workers and the switch to digital, the paper argues.

Gannett says it has made this change in multiple markets.

“The transition from carrier to Postal Service delivery will ensure we can provide a more consistent experience for our valued subscribers,” says Michael A. Anastasi, vice president of Local News for Gannett.

“We also encourage readers to visit us regularly on our digital platforms, as well as to access our eNewspaper, a digital replica of the newspaper at starnewsonline.com/enewspaper.”

Digital products are now the first choice for readers seeking breaking-news, the paper states.

“The StarNews has been providing top-notch local news for more than 150 years, and we are committed to continuing to do so,” says Sherry Jones, executive editor. “Our industry is evolving and so too is the way we deliver the news.”
