Randy’s Donuts, the Los Angeles institution founded in 1952 and best known for its 32-foot giant rooftop donut on its initial location, has announced a new store opening in the San Fernando Valley in North Hollywood, California.

This location will serve the full Randy’s menu, which includes over 60 different varieties of classic and premium donuts along with Randy’s Rounds and more.

The North Hollywood location is owned and operated by Madison Valley Group Inc., which also runs Randy’s Donuts’ Burbank location.

“It’s been almost a year in the making, and we are finally opening … in the heart of NoHo’s famous Arts District,” said franchise operator Panos Grivakis in a release.

The old-school chain, which makes every donut by hand, has seen quite a bit of growth over the last few years. In addition to North Hollywood, the donut shop now has locations throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Las Vegas, the Philippines, South Korea and Saudi Arabia. The chain also recently added a new beverage program including exclusive coffee, refreshers, boba and milkshakes items as well as a loyalty program, Randy’s Rewards.

The original Randy’s Donuts in Inglewood, California, which is housed in a giant donut visible to travelers from the air upon arrival to Los Angeles International Airport, is one of the few remaining examples the early 20^th century style of programmatic architecture, “where buildings and other structures were given unusual shapes for purposes such as advertising… their size and novelty mean that they often serve as landmarks,” per Wikipedia. The oversized donut has been featured in such films as “Iron Man,” “Mars Attacks!” and “Friday After Next,” among many others.
