Advance's Miron, Newhouse Resign From WB Discovery Board

Steven A. Miron and Steven O. Newhouse have resigned from Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD)'s board of directors, effective immediately.

The announcement came after the U.S. Department of Justice notified them it was investigating whether their service on the board violated Section 8 of the Clayton Antitrust Act.

Without admitting a violation, Miron and Newhouse elected to resign rather than contest the issue.

Miron is chief executive officer of Advance/Newhouse Partnership, and a senior executive officer at Advance, a family-held business that publishes numerous media titles. Newhouse is co-president of Advance.

Both were appointed to the WBD board upon the closing of the merger between Discovery, Inc. and WarnerMedia in 2022.

“On behalf of the entire WBD Board of Directors, I would like to express my gratitude to Steve Miron and Steven Newhouse for their service on behalf of WBD’s stockholders and their many contributions to the deliberations and work of the Board,” says Samuel A. Di Piazza, Jr., chair of the WBD board.
