Pizza chain Mountain Mike’s announced last week it was promoting Carol DeNembo to the role of CMO. She was previously vice president of marketing.

The promotion marks the chain’s expansion of its C-suite, per a release that said the brand’s “visibility and awareness have skyrocketed” since DeNembo joined the company in 2018.

“Carol has been an invaluable asset and an absolute marketing powerhouse for Mountain Mike’s Pizza, always uncovering creative, innovative and effective ways to interact with our guests and propel the brand as we enter new markets across the country," said Jim Metevier, CEO of Mountain Mike’s Pizza, in the release. “Carol’s exemplary leadership of our marketing initiatives has been paramount to the significant sales and franchise growth we’ve experienced in the last half-decade, and her custodianship of our brand has truly been best in class.”

Over DeNembo’s tenure at Mountain Mike’s, her company initiatives included playing an instrumental role in securing and successfully activating the brand’s professional sports partnership with the San Francisco 49ers. In 2022 she spearheaded a multiyear agreement with the Los Angeles Angels baseball club and led the brand into its third professional sports partnership as an official pizza partner of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings the following year.

The brand cited “DeNembo’s firm grasp of industry trends, coupled with her ability to harness the immense power of product marketing,” as helping contribute to Mountain Mike’s sales growth.

Before joining Mountain Mike’s, DeNembo spent 11 years in senior roles at Juice It Up, a smoothie QSR with nearly 100 locations in four western states. Earlier in her career she served for more than a decade in marketing roles at New Horizon’s Computer Learning Centers
