Sister CKE restaurant chains Carl's Jr. and Hardee's are selling limited-edition branded men's boxer shorts, using social media to drive the buzz.
The white boxers feature the slogan "Eat
Like You Mean It."
Two thousand of the items are being sold for $20 at
http://www.eatlikeyoumeanit.com.
A mock-up of the
boxers, designed by 72andSunny, was revealed on Facebook over the summer, when the brands asked if their fans would buy them.
The response prompted the chains to offer the items for sale
for the holiday season.
According to 72andSunny, the items are making a "big splash" on the brands' Facebook and Instagram pages.
MediaBistro reports that there are no plans to
release women's underwear bearing the "Eat Like You Mean It" slogan--"where it would be given a significantly more suggestive connotation."
