Management Shakeup At Mindshare North America

Mindshare, part of WPP’s GroupM, has installed new leadership for its North America region.

Mindshare and GroupM veteran Ernie Simon has been named CEO for Mindshare North America, replacing Colin Kinsella, who had held the post since replacing Antony Young in 2013.

The agency also said Adam Gerbert, most recently West Coast lead for the agency, has been promoted to U.S. CEO and that agency veteran Cindy Gustafson was named U.S. chief strategy officer.

Those duties had been handled up to now by Jordan Bitterman, who had been brought on board by Kinsella. Prior to their stints at Mindshare, Kinsella and Bitterman had been with Publicis Groupe’s DigitasLBi.

Simon most recently served as president of GroupM Consulting, where he worked across the group on new and existing business to ensure that clients were getting the resources they needed from across GroupM and WPP. Simon has more than 10 years’ experience at GroupM, seven of which were spent as part of Mindshare.

Nick Emery, Global CEO, Mindshare, stated: “Ernie has made enormous contributions to Mindshare and was one of founders in North America. He has also been a thought leader and a strategic resource to us over the past three years in his capacity at GroupM.”
