Synchrony Financial mistakenly sent an email to customers saying a “a trial deposit has been successfully made to your Amazon credit.”
The email went to customers who did not have Synchrony’s co-branded card with Amazon.com.
The company told Reuters the email was sent due to an internal error, and that it did not involve a data breach.
“We have confirmed none of your personal data was compromised,” Synchrony informed customers in an email, according to Reuters.
Launched in June, the co-branded card is designed for consumers with a low credit score, the report says.
