Debi Chirichella was named president of Hearst Magazines today.
Chirichella has served as acting president of Hearst Magazines since July, when Troy Young stepped down. Since 2011, she has held the role of executive vice president-CFO at the company.
“Debi has been a key part of our magazine company leadership team for almost a decade and has a very strong command of all aspects of this business,” stated Hearst president-CEO Steven R. Swartz. “She has expertly led the division over the past several months, and we are confident in the future as Debi and her team continue to build on the legacy of our great brands around the world.”

Prior to joining Hearst, Chirichella served as COO of Condé Nast Digital and Fairchild Fashion Group.
She was CFO of Condé Nast from 2004 to 2008.
In September, Hearst Magazines announced a multimillion-dollar investment to “enhance the quality” of its print products. The new initiative, called Premium Print, will mean larger formats, higher-quality paper and improved editorial ratios for Hearst’s magazines.
“We are experimenting and making great strides by activating our digital channels to sell products, including print and digital subscriptions,” Chirichella stated at the time.
“Our strategy to invest in digital growth while maintaining the strength, differentiation and high quality of our print products, along with this new investment, paves the path to our future," she added.
Hearst Magazines publishes more than 300 editions and 245 websites around the world, including more than 25 brands in the U.S.
