Hallmark's VP: When You Care Enough to Do the Very Best

Hallmark's Alexis Kerr talks diversity, imperfection and embracing the unexpected.

I've had the opportunity to connect with and learn from executives of major brands at MediaPost's Insider Summits. In the process I've discovered some truly impressive women, and not only for the work they do but their stories behind the scenes. With Brand Insider: BTS, I get to pull back the curtain on some of the most influential women marketers as they talk about their path to success: the twists and turns, obstacles, inspirations and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

“When you push and do it and try something new, great things can happen.” It's that adventurous spirit that Alexis Kerr says led her to her most recent "great thing"- - becoming vice president of the Mahogany Brand at Hallmark Cards. It's a role the multicultural expert embodies both personally and professionally.

In this edition of Brand Insider: BTS, Alexis talks with me about today's demand for more diversity and inclusion and what she believes needs to be done to keep things moving forward. She also expresses gratitude for the positive impact mentors have had on her life and even reveals something she "love, love, loves." You can watch the video of the entire conversation here.
