Stagwell's ARound Upgrades In-Stadium AR Experience With Immersal Tie

Stagwell augmented reality platform ARound is partnering with AR specialist Immersal to create new and better fan experiences in stadiums across major league sports.

ARound has been doing that for two seasons now and a big difference with Immersal’s input is that fans won’t have to download an app to view experiences. Immersal is bringing its turnkey WebAR solution to the partnership enabling greater fan accessibility.

The partners are calling it a game changer. And let’s face it, is there anything more annoying than downloading an app (or trying to) only to be told your phone isn’t compatible with it?

The WebAR system, the partners say, just makes it easier for all involved to create and integrate a broader scope of fan engagements. And brand sponsorship opportunities will also expand with the shift to a web-based AR platform.

The first jointly developed content experience will be announced in February.

ARound has deals with teams including the Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Royals, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Josh Beatty, founder and CEO, ARound, says, "By integrating our fan engagement platform with Immersal's robust localization technology, we can seamlessly create dynamic digital experiences that put fans at the center of the action while scaling to new audiences around the world."
