Puzzmo Game Suite Is Now Available In Canada

Postmedia has launched Puzzmo, the puzzle game recently acquired by Hearst, in Canada.

Thanks to this arrangement, Postmedia is now the exclusive Canadian distributor for Puzzmo’s suite of online puzzles and games.

Puzzmo was developed roughly three years ago by Zach Gage and Orta Therox. Hearst purchased it last December, and promptly started rolling it out to readers of its more than 50 brands, from the San Francisco Chronicle to Popular Mechanics.

“We’re excited to offer Puzzmo to Canadians coast-to-coast, including but not limited to Postmedia’s subscribers,” says Duncan Clark, chief content officer at Postmedia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Postmedia Network Canada Corp., a Canadian newsmedia company with more than 130 brands across multiple print, online, and mobile platforms

Clark adds, “We know how much our readers enjoy puzzles as part of their subscriptions, and with Puzzmo we’re offering access to some of the most unique and sought-after options for readers and the general public.”

Puzzmo games will be available to Canadian readers for free. And those who have a paid subscription will have access to additional games in an ad-free environment.

Postmedia's online subscribers will receive a special promotional price, although the subscription is not available in Quebec.

The basic Puzzmo offering includes such games as SpellTower, Typeshift and Really Bad Chess, Flipart and Cross|word.

"Puzzmo’s design was inspired by newspaper games, so I can't wait to see how Postmedia subscribers and the Canadian public respond to the platform and community," says Zach Gage.
