To promote its Dum Dums lollipops brand, Spangler Candy Company has released a free iPad app that challenges kids and adults to develop their drumming and memory skills.
The "Dum Dums Drums" app features the brand's mascot, Dum Dums Drum Man, in 3D animation, challenging players to "repeat the beats" and match his drumming skills by tapping drums and cymbals with their fingers.
The app, which is being promoted on Dum Dums's social media, including Facebook and Twitter, quickly accelerates from simple beats to fast, complex beats, which players must repeat to advance to the next level.
Spangler Digital Marketing Director Mattea St. John describes the app as fun to play but difficult to master, and designed to be "simple enough for the youngest aspiring drummer, but challenging enough to test the memory of rock legends."
The new app, available on iTunes, follows a Dum Dums iPhone app for kids called "Flick-A-Pop" that's been downloaded more than 1.5 million times.
