Baseball Propels Fox To TV Lead

A month and a half into the new TV season and surprisingly, Fox -- by way of the World Series -- has led among key TV viewers through November 6.

Fox is now averaging a prime-time Nielsen 2.6 rating/9 share (3.34 million) 18-49 viewers. NBC is next at a 2.5/9 (3.2 million), followed by CBS, 2.1/8 (2.75 million) and ABC, 1.8/6 (2.34 million).

CBS still leads in overall viewers with 10.7 million -- followed by NBC at 8.9 million, Fox with, 8.3 million, and ABC at 7.12 million.

In recent weeks, Fox easily posted the best individual results for a single TV program. Game 7 of the World Series pulled in 40 million viewers; with game 6 taking  in 23.4 million.

NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” that same week was at 18.3 million. CBS’s “Big Bang Theory” was next at 14.2 million, while “60 Minutes” had 14 million. ABC’s highest-rated show remains “Dancing with the Stars” -- 10.4 million.

Among other networks: Univision had 1.76 million overall viewers (0.6/2 among 18-49 viewers) and Telemundo had 1.74 million (0.7/2 among 18-49 viewers.

CW is averaging 1.7 million overall viewers (0.6/2 among 18-49 viewers), while ION records 1.140 million (0.3/1).
