Omnicom Media Group Retains Global HSBC Business

Omnicom Media Group has retained the global media account for financial services firm HSBC, after a review that included WPP.

Agency research firm COMvergence estimates that HSBC will spend $130 million on measured media this year, with 60% earmarked for digital channels.

OMG’s agency PHD won the account in 2018 when WPP’s Mindshare was the incumbent.

Word of the HSBC retention follows last week’s news that Omnicom Media Group agency OMD won a major piece of Beiersdorf’s media business. The skincare giant consolidated its North American and Europe regions. And globally OMD will serve as the client’s media strategy consultancy.
