  • General Motors - Starcom Mediavest
    Starcom Mediavest has been awarded the whopping $3.2 billion General Motors media account. The agency bested incumbents GM Mediaworks and LCI.
  • Arnell Group - Almay
    Revlon Inc. has selected the Arnell Group to handle creative and media planning chores for its Almay brand. The account is estimated at $40 million.
  • Lenovo Group - Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide
    Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide has been awarded global brand advertising duties on the estimated $100 million Lenovo Group account. The agency will handle advertising for Lenovo's "Think" branded products, including ThinkPad notebooks and ThinkCentre desktops. Ogilvy & Mather, along with sister agencies OgilvyOne, OgilvyInteractive and MindShare, will handle advertising, one-to-one marketing, interactive media and related marketing activities for Lenovo in roughly 30 countries.

    American Express Financial Advisors has named Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide as its agency of record. The agency will develop an advertising campaign to help AEFA promote a new brand name. Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide will continue to be the agency of record for American Express Company. The account is estimated at $55 million.
  • The California Department of Health Services (Tobacco Control)
    The California Department of Health Services has placed its Tobacco Control advertising account in review. The account is valued at $45 million and is currently handled by VitroRobertson. The incumbent will not defend the account. Competing for the work are RPA, Venables Bell & Partners, and Ground Zero.
  • Heinz
    The H.J. Heinz Company has consolidated advertising for its entire U.S. Consumer Products brand portfolio - including Heinz Ketchup and Classico sauces - with Cramer-Krasselt. The Chicago-based independent already handles Heinz Frozen Foods brands - including Ore-Ida frozen potatoes and Weight Watchers Smart Ones entrees and desserts. Heinz awarded the Frozen Foods brands to C-K in August 2004 after a review. Based on the strength of the partnership between Heinz and C-K, a decision was made to consolidate all its U.S. retail advertising business with the agency. The accounts were previously handled by Leo Burnett and Campbell Mithun.
