Harley-Davidson has launched a TV spot via Boulder, Co.-based Victors & Spoils. Well, to be clear V&S produced the ad, but one of Harley-Davidson fans came up with the idea. The ad,
which soft-launched online last week on Harley's channels, and is set to start airing on TV next week, is the second spot produced through Harley's Fan Machine app embedded in the
brands Facebook Fan Page.
The Fan Machine, developed by Victors & Spoils, allows fans to submit creative ideas based on a brief from V&S. The fan who submitted the
winning idea was paid for the concept.
The ad is also a nod to social media, as it means to demonstrate how H-D owners are not stereotypical. The ad shows real Harley owners (a
culturally diverse group in their 20's and 30's) with their bikes. On the montage style footage is superimposed each rider's Twitter hash-tags and what they do in their other life -- teacher, soccer
mom, police officer, honor student, gourmet chef.
