All Nippon Airways Asks 'Is Japan Cool?'

All Nippon Airways is launching an updated website and a sweepstakes linked to the question “Is Japan Cool?”

The interactive website offers a multimedia portal into the weird and wonderful world of Japan.

Users can learn about the cultural traditions and local attractions that are unique to Japanese destinations. Visitors can vote on whether they think different topics are “cool” or “not so cool,” leave comments, or share their thoughts via social media.

The site also features a sweepstakes with the prize of a round-trip holiday to Japan, courtesy of ANA.

Originally launched in 2012, the updated Web site has greater interactivity and a focus on destination promotion for in-bound travelers. It is intended as a resource for tourists and the curious to explore elements of old and new Japan with the aim of inspiring them to make a visit via ANA.

Web site visitors can explore features such as shopping, traditions, kawaii (cute) and ramen noodles in depth.

The re-launch of the Web site coincides with an “Is Japan Cool?” pop-up which opens at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York Nov.17. Organized by ANA and the Japan National Tourism Organization, it will be open seven days a week through Dec. 21 except during the Thanksgiving holiday.

The pop-up reflects the contents of the Web site and includes interactive displays and video walls. Representatives from the airline will be on hand to answer questions about Japan.

The airline has made it more affordable to travel across Japan with its “Experience JAPAN Fare” which reduces the cost of internal flights on ANA for international visitors.
