  • BRITTA C. WARE: Meredith Corporation
    Meredith Corporation has named BRITTA C. WARE the director of corporate research. Ware joins Meredith from The Reader’s Digest Association, where she served as director of U.S. advertising research for the past nine years. In her new role, Ware will be responsible for overseeing advertising research functions for titles such as Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies’ Home Journal, Country Home, More, Traditional Home, American Baby, Midwest Living and Wood magazines, as well as Meredith’s 150 special interest publications.
  • MATIAS CHARAS: United Virtualities
    United Virtualities expanded its management team by three. MATIAS CHARAS was named chief financial officer; SCOTT KURTTILA was hired as business development manager, and NATALIA SILVINA SCALIA joined as director, channel partnerships. Charas will direct the company's overall financial plans and policies as well as manage UV’s relationships with financial institutions. Kurttila will identify and create business relationships and strategies for UV. Lastly, Scalia will oversee and strengthen the company's partner relationships.

    FindWhat.com has added SEB BISHOP to its board of directors. Bishop was co-founder of Espotting Media, and currently serves as senior vice president. Espotting and FindWhat.com merged on July 1.
  • STACEY PEAR: Intermix Media
    Intermix Media, producers of more than 50 Web sites, has named STACEY PEAR, New York manager and ANDREA ELLIOTT, category leader for movies and home entertainment. Pear, a 20-year media sales veteran, spent the last seven years at Broadcast.com, Yahoo!, and Yahoo!'s Net Road Show group. Elliott, who was most recently head of sales for Variety's Home Entertainment group in Los Angeles, is a former sales and marketing executive at Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox.

    FRED SATTLER is joining PHD Detroit in the new position of executive vice president, general manager. Sattler will be responsible for leading strategic planning, media research, and consumer insight development, and PHD Detroit’s understanding of interactive technologies. He will also drive business development and help develop a system of “best practices.” Sattler joins from Doner Advertising where he was most recently executive vice president and chief media officer.

    NATE NICKERSON has been named deputy editor of Technology Review. Nickerson will manage all elements of the editorial process and production. Prior to joining Technology Review, he was Fast Company magazine’s managing editor. Previously, he directed the publication of Cook’s Illustrated and Family Circle magazines.

A 10-year veteran of the interactive advertising arena, she most recently served as vice president sales and operations at Hotbar. Also at 121 Media, CHRISTIAN CELIC joins as vice president of business development, from director of national sales at United Online.
