  • Monteiro Named CCO Publicis Toronto
    Publicis Canada has appointed Joanna Monteiro Chief Creative Officer, Publicis Toronto. She will report to Brett McIntosh, President, Publicis Toronto, and will join the agency’s Executive Leadership Team. Monteiro joins Publicis Toronto from Brazilian advertising agency Heads Propaganda, where she was Chief Creative Officer. Earlier she held a number of senior creative roles across Brazil, including Chief Creative Officer at FCB.

    Alison Michael has been hired as lead creative strategist at Sköna the B2B creative agency with offices in San Francisco and Stockholm. For the past six years she was a creative strategist at Funworks.  Brittany McBride has been hired as a designer at the agency.  Prior to joining, she was a freelance designer and animator for the past three years and directed marketing and design for the Pacific Northwest and NorCal chapters of The CFO Leadership Council, and later became a brand designer working with the national team.

    Publicis Groupe has appointed Geraldine White U.S. Chief Diversity Officer. She replaces Ronnie Dickerson Stewart who left the company earlier this year. White is tasked with leading all U.S. DE&I work with a focus on elevating talent experiences, improving systems, policies and practices and enabling an inclusive environment. The 13-year Publicis Groupe veteran most recently  served as Head of Diversity & Inclusion in North America for Publicis Sapient.

    Omelet has promoted Ricardo Diaz to Chief Digital Officer. Diaz joined the agency in 2016 as executive director of Digital. Under his leadership, Omelet has expanded digital offerings, grown the digital team, and created numerous award-winning digital campaigns for brands like Google Stadia, Guardian Life Insurance and Mitsubishi.In his new role, Diaz will oversee all digital aspects of Omelet’s remit, from the RFP process to creative concepting and launch.

    Columbus, OH-based marketing agency The Shipyard has hired Jelani Gibson as associate strategist and Mwesi Stokes as associate performance media analyst.   Both Gibson and Stokes had previously held internships with the agency during their recent Spring semester.   In addition, The Shipyard has hired two new incoming student interns for the Summer: Averi Allison and Richard Dixon.  All four are members of Ohio State University’s Black Advertising and Strategic Communication Association (BASCA).   • Zambezi Promotes Teng To Chief Media Officer, Hires CFO
    Zambezi has promoted Grace Teng to Chief Media Officer. She’ll lead the agency’s media and analytics department. Teng joined the agency in 2018 as executive director media & analytics and has played a major role in growing the operation.  The agency has also hired Latoya Love, previously with Tool NA, as Chief Financial Officer and Suzanne Keen, previously with Interesting Development, as creative director.
