IHOP’s latest addition to its
menu gives a classic sandwich a new Gen Z glow-up.
This week the brand rolls out its version of the BLT -- the BLTAF, which stands for “bacon, lettuce, tomato… and
fries.” The latest addition to the new IHOP value menu, the BLTAF is available every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $6 or $7, depending on location.
The brand isn’t stopping at
typical product promos for the new sandwich. IHOP actually filed to trademark “BLTAF” as well as entering the acronym into the Urban Dictionary, as seen here. The definition reads “Inspired by IHOP’s iconic BLT And Fries combo meal, this slang refers to anything delicious and
craveable that absolutely slaps on the first bite.”

“We’re elevating BLTAF as a star with its own fandom,” said Lawrence Kim, IHOP president, in a statement. “The
joke is the point: we’re naming the feeling, trademarking the vibe, and writing it into the culture as part of our efforts to redefine everyday value and introduce menu innovation that’s
actually fun, fresh and scroll-stopping.”
Influencer Olivia Maher, best known for coining and popularizing the “girl dinner” TikTok trend in 2023, has been tapped to promote
the BLTAF. Maher stars in social videos trying the BLTAF, such as seen here, stating, “As the creator behind one of the
internet’s most iconic dining trends, I know a cultural moment when I taste it.”
The BLTAF is the fifth full meal option to join the chain’s new value menu, with
hickory-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on toasted white bread and automatically served with fries for no extra charge. Customers may also opt for hash browns instead of fries.
