Burger King Teams Up With Latest 'Star Wars' Film

Burger King will be rolling out its latest intergalactic partnership with the newest “Star Wars” film.

Beginning May 4, the chain will release a limited-time menu based on “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu,” which hits theaters on May 22.

The menu includes a BBQ Bounty Whopper, which is a Whopper with Swiss cheese, pickle chips, bacon, lettuce, tomato and Bounty BBQ sauce, served in a helmet-shaped carton.  Grogu's Blue Cookie Shake is soft serve blended with blue sugar cookie syrup and topped with blue cookies, while Grogu's Garlic Chicken Fries are the chain’s white meat Chicken Fries seasoned with parmesan and garlic and served in a Grogu-themed carton with garlic dipping sauce. Also available are Imperial Cheddar Ranch tots, which contain cheddar cheese, potatoes and ranch seasoning, served in an Imperial-themed carton.

“Star Wars has shaped generations of fans, and as we head into the release of ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu,’ we saw an opportunity to bring that excitement straight into our restaurants,” said Joel Yashinsky, CMO of Burger King U.S. & Canada, in a release. “From themed packaging to bold, flavor-forward menu items, this is our way of celebrating an iconic new film.”

Also available are four collectible cups, which are only “unlocked” with the purchase of a Bounty Bundle, which is a box including all four themed menu items, a BBQ Bounty Whopper combo or a12-piece  Grogu's Garlic Chicken Fry combo. The King Jr. meal launches on April 28 and includes the choice of hamburger or four-piece nuggets, apple sauce and kids' fry and milk or apple juice with a Mandalorian-themed toy, while supplies last.

This isn’t the first time Burger King has partnered with a “Star Wars” property. The chain did a  major tie-in for “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith,” as well as multiple collaborations in the 1970s and 1980s during the release of the original trilogy.
