Fast-casual brand McAlister’s Deli’s has
launched CommuniTEA Connections, a community-focused initiative that “recognizes the people and places that help neighborhoods thrive.”
Beginning on June 10, which was National
Iced Tea Day, and running through July 16 (aka Free Tea Day), the brand has created a series of dedicated events to celebrate “hometown heroes” such as educators, healthcare professionals,
first responders and others “who keep communities running every day.”
The brand kicks off the program by initially offering McAlister's Deli Rewards Members up to three free flavor
shots with the purchase of any beverage from June 10–14.
The promotion then moves to the local level, where the brand will give out free tea passes to hometown heroes across the country.
Beginning June 15-June 21, medical workers, such as doctors, nurses, ambulance workers and first responders, are first in line to receive their free teas. Next up is education, which includes
teachers, professors and admins, from June 22 – June 28, followed by public safety + security (firefighters, police, etc.) from July 6-July 12.

The promotion culminates on Free Tea Day
on July 16, when all McAlister’s customers will receive free tea with no purchase needed.
The brand is promoting CommuniTEA Connections via its socials such as Instagram and Facebook,
where posts detail various “hacks” that can be made to the McAlister’s iced tea, such as adding pineapple syrup.
A division of GoTo Foods, McAlister’s Deli recently
announced two new menus: a GLP-1 Menu for customers looking to prioritize high protein, high fiber and balanced nutrition, as well as a High-Protein Vegetarian Menu, “to satisfy the growing
demand for plant-forward options that don’t compromise on flavor or protein."
Once only located in the South, Mc Alister’s currently boasts 570 locations across 31 states, with
plans to open over 265 more stores by 2032.
