Here’s a first: The GEICO Gecko was a guest on a live unscripted “special episode” of the podcast Fudd Around And Find Out hosted by the Dallas Wings’s Azzi Fudd (No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA draft) and sports broadcaster and former college and pro basketball player Ashanti Plummer. 

The appearance stemmed from GEICO signing Fudd to a multiyear sponsorship deal with Fudd earlier this year, the first time the insurer signed an endorsement deal with a female athlete.  

But as the Gecko—and please don’t call him Mr. Gecko--noted on the show, he’s “a massive fan of basketball,” and has been following Fudd’s career for quite a while.  

The integration was powered by AI technology developed and distributed in partnership with Framestore, The Martin Agency and Omnicom Media.  

GEICO said the appearance “marks a broader shift in how GEICO is evolving its marketing and showing up in more modern, relevant environments.”
